Jessica Bruno, somatic and IFS therapist in New York and North Carolina

HELLO

I’m Jessica.

I help women reconnect with their instincts, their voice, and their internal authority — so they can stop second-guessing themselves and start living in alignment with what’s true.

My own path into this work came from living in my head for a long time- analyzing, overthinking, trying to get it right.

On the outside, things looked fine. But internally, I felt disconnected from myself. Something deeper was missing.

It wasn’t until I turned inward — into my body that things began to shift.

That path led me into body-centered healing, somatic work, and ultimately Internal Family Systems (IFS)—a framework that honors the complexity, beauty, and intelligence of our inner world.

That work opened so much for me. I was more aware. More connected. But there were still parts of myself I wasn’t fully in relationship with.

Parts that felt harder to access. Harder to trust.

What I came to see is that this wasn’t just personal.

It was cultural, systemic, and historical.

We don’t learn to disconnect from ourselves in isolation. We’re shaped inside systems that teach women to override themselves. To stay agreeable. To be easy to be with. To prioritize connection over truth. To soften their instincts, question their no, and turn their anger inward.

So even though I was doing the work- there were still parts of me I didn’t have permission to access. I didn’t yet have the context to really see what had been conditioned out of me.

What I’ve come to understand is that this is what’s often missing —not just awareness, but context.

A way of understanding how culture shapes the way women relate to themselves. Because for women, healing is a path of reclamation and liberation, and it isn’t separate from the culture and systems we were shaped in.

MY PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND QUALIFICATIONS

I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University, and I’m licensed to practice in both North Carolina and New York State. My post-graduate training includes advanced coursework in Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, and polyvagal theory, along with certification as an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Practitioner.

These modalities are not protocols. I use them as a fluid, responsive language for helping women reconnect with their body, instincts, and personal power.

Above all, my work is grounded in presence, authenticity, and ongoing personal integration. I embody this work myself. Together, we’ll co-create a space where your nervous system can soften, your parts can feel seen, and your own wisdom can emerge.

Are you ready to reclaim and liberate all that you are?
